Buying property is an exciting and joyous occasion, but it also can be daunting, stressful, and complicated. That’s why a buyer’s agent is an indispensable resource for home buyers, helping ease a great deal of uncertainty and confusion for you during the entire real estate purchase process.

Unlike the listing agent, who represents the interests of the seller, a buyer’s agent like me represents you. I will be your knowledgeable guide and advocate every step of the way as you search for your new home, negotiate terms, and complete your purchase.

I specialize as a buyer’s agent focused on properties all along Maine's coast.  I understand this market intimately—including the wide variety of waterfront properties for sale, community dynamics, and overall market conditions that change frequently.

While property buyers aren’t required to use a buyer’s agent, remember that the listing agent is always beholden to the seller and not to you, the buyer. You have the right to engage an agent who will work for you alone. So, why wouldn’t you?

When you engage me as your buyer’s agent, I will:?

1. Work with you diligently to understand what you’re looking for in a property.

2. Scour the area to find properties that best meet your needs—via my access to the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) database and my connections in the community.

3. Schedule appointments and guide you, as much as you’d like, through the viewings. I will help you look beyond just the surface features and conditions of a home so you can evaluate each one fully, including items and issues not immediately obvious.

4. Carefully review property disclosures and other information to help uncover potential issues, including defects, flaws, property line disputes, and problems with soil, water, and air quality.

5. Negotiate the price and other purchase details and write up contracts for you, including the initial offer, counteroffers, and final purchase agreements.

6. Recommend service professionals including home inspectors, mortgage brokers, and real estate attorneys, and coordinate directly with them as needed.

7. Coordinate the home inspection, including negotiating any necessary repairs and concessions from the seller.

8. Help simplify numerous other details of your home search and purchase, culminating with representing you and your interests at the closing.
